Take Your Child to the Library Day
10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Take Your Child to the Library Day (TYCLD) is an international initiative that encourages families everywhere to take their children to their local library. Launched in 2011 in Connecticut, it stresses the importance of the library in the life of a child. On our TYCLD on February 4, we will be offering snacks and crafts, including Valentine-themed bookmarks, and Friends of the Library will be reading aloud to the children.

At noon Caroline Nastro, local children’s author, will present a program based on her new book “The Bear Who Couldn’t Sleep.”  Her book will be available for sale and signing.

We encourage children and parents to familiarize themselves with the Library and see the many things we offer, including DVD and recorded book rentals, exercise classes, mah-jongg and other fun programs. It’s a good chance to get a Library card or update your current one.
