Lena Dunham – A Reading & Talk – SOLD OUT!!

Lena Dunham

Cornwall neighbor, creator of the critically acclaimed HBO series Girls, for which she also serves as executive producer, writer, actress and director, co-founder of a new e-newsletter, Lenny, Lena Dunham will read from her book Not That Kind of Girl on Friday, November 27, 2016, 5 pm at the Cornwall Meeting House, 8 Bolton Road. Following the reading she will talk with Laurie Simmons, artist, photographer, filmmaker and, not coincidentally, mother of Lena herself, in an unscripted Q&A format.

After the reading and Q&A, guests will cross the town green for a book signing and reception that will follow at the Library on Pine Street. Both hardcover and the newly issued paperback version of the book will be available for sale at the Library reception, thanks to The Wish House.

When it came out in 2014, Not That Kind of Girl was named one of the best books of the year. “The gifted [Lena] Dunham not only writes with observant precision, but also brings a measure of perspective, nostalgia and an older person’s sort of wisdom to her portrait of her (not all that much) younger self and her world…. As acute and heartfelt as it is funny.”—Michiko Kakutani, The New York Times.

Event to benefit The Cornwall Library.
