Volunteers

The Cornwall Library thrives on the time and experience of its volunteers. Many are trained on the Circulation and Cataloging database, Evergreen 2.0. They learn the procedures and steps for searching for books and materials; adding and deleting patrons’ names; checking items in and out; and entering books and other items. Volunteers place holds on items for patrons. Shelving books, straightening the shelves and assisting with weeding (removing books from) the collection are among the tasks asked of volunteers. Most give three and a half hours per week to serve the patrons of Cornwall.
