Garden 3 – A traditional garden blending into the natural landscape
Billbee Hills Farm dates to around 1820 and takes its name from the Kugeman family, long time members of the Cornwall community. The gardens have been thoughtfully reimagined over the past four years by the current owners, working with landscape designer Alexa Venturini, and inspired by the naturalism of Piet Oudolf, and Dan Pearson. The garden moves from the quiet formality of a sunken garden room through expanding borders of native shrubs, grasses, and perennials before dissolving into the wider Connecticut landscape, all framed by an extraordinary borrowed view of layered hills and valleys that remain at the heart of this special property.
