Books & Blooms: “What Makes a Garden a Garden”
A presentation by Dee Salomon, an expert on native habitat restoration and the “Ungardener” columnist at the Lakeville Journal.
Dee Salomon writes, advocates, and consults on native habitat restoration. A former publishing and marketing executive, Dee moved from New York City to Litchfield County over a decade ago and began clearing invasive plant species from the woodland adjacent to the house where she and her husband now live full time. Dee has rehabilitated the 15 acres where she lives into a woodland paradise that nurtures native plants and animals. Along with many other ungardeners across the country, Dee advocates for the restoration of native habitats by removing invasive plant species and propagating native plants. She writes on the topic for several publications and has a monthly column in the Lakeville Journal, which can also be found on her website, Theungardener.com.
This talk will be held at the Cornwall Town Hall, 26 Pine Street in Cornwall Village, and will be followed by a cocktail reception next door at The Cornwall Library with live music by the Crownback Funk Trio.
Tickets are $40 for the talk, $30 for the garden tours or $65 for both. Please register and purchase via the link.
