Creative Writing Workshop with Sally Van Doren

This intensive writing workshop is designed to give writers the time we need to generate new work and to hone in on whatever it is that is begging us to bring it to the page. Guided by prompts and in-class writing assignments, we will dive deep and emerge transformed. With a focus on poetic concision and the power of spontaneity, writers will be encouraged to create on the spot and share it with others for immediate feedback.

An author and artist, Sally Van Doren has published four books of poetry with LSU Press, most recently Sibilance. Her first book, Sex at Noon Taxes, received the Walt Whitman Award from the Academy of American Poets.  A graduate of Princeton (BA) and the University of Missouri-St. Louis (MFA), she has taught poetry workshops at the Scoville Memorial Library, the 92nd Street Y and other institutions. She maintains her studio in West Cornwall.

Registration is required.  Class size is limited to 12 students.
