“Dual Vision”, Photographs by Lazlo Gyorsok and Jack Kearney

On September 19, The Cornwall Library opens an exhibit of photographs by two stellar Cornwall artists, Lazlo Gyorsok and Jack Kearney, friends and members of the Housatonic Camera Club who have exhibited together previously, at the Souterrain Gallery in West Cornwall.

At the library, Gyorsok will show black and white pictures of animals, while Kearney displays color landscapes.

Born in Hungary, Gyorsok’s passion for photography began at age ten, when he received the Russian version of a Kodak style box camera. In 1972 he came to the United States, first settling in New York City before moving to Cornwall. He graduated to digital in the 90’s and is webmaster for the Housatonic Camera Club’s site. His pictures have received numerous national awards (New England Camera Club Council, Photographic Society of America, Black & White magazine) and international awards. He is the in-house photography contributor for Main Street Magazine in Millerton, New York.

Kearney grew up on Long Island, New York, where an early love of the arts centered on music. After earning a degree in Music Technology, Composition, and Performance from NYU and spending 15 years leading technical teams at Apple, he turned his creative focus on photography. In 2024, he relocated to West Cornwall dedicating himself fully to capturing the quiet beauty of the Northeast landscape.
