Victorian Embroidery Quilt Collage Block
Fridays January 5, 12, and 19
10:00 am to 11:30 am
Art Class with Collette Hurst
Learn a variety of simple and embellished embroidery stitches and motifs to create a Victorian collage quilt block. The primary focus of the class is learning embroidery stitches and how to combine them to decorate a fabric collage. The assorted fabrics are applied to a square of muslin – that is called the block. The method is known as a “Victorian Crazy Quilt.” (The basic method of creating many varieties of quilts in general is by creating blocks which are then stitched together.) Students will need basic embroidery supplies and a variety of colored embroidery threads, and a variety of fabric remnants. Supply list provided on registration. Class will be rescheduled if weather conditions require. Fee is $75 for all three sessions, payable to the instructor. Registration is required.
