Don Bracken is a process-oriented artist whose work evolves from the discovery of natural materials, which are then synthesized and formalized in the studio. His work derives from both the physical landscape and the archeological traces of civilization, combining elements such as clay, local earth, natural pigments, and plant material. He incorporates rich textures, color, light, and kinetics in pieces that are evocative of life’s ephemeral transience and its constant evolution, as well as humans’ capacity to cause decline, disorder, and chaos in the natural world. Bracken’s award-winning work is held in numerous American and international collections.

His work will remain on display until April 25.

Calling all builders! Join us in the community room for a monthly LEGO club meeting. We will work on a theme-related project together and then spend time free-building. We’ll provide the bricks, just bring your imagination! Registration required, ages 5 and up.

Letty Cottin Pogrebin is a prominent American author, journalist, activist, and lecturer known as a founding editor of Ms. magazine. A key figure in second-wave feminism and Jewish activism, she has published over a dozen books, including memoirs, non-fiction, and novels. Anne Kreamer, a journalist and author who specializes in business, work/life balance, culture, and women’s issues, will interview Pogrebin.

Linda Liano of Program Sage will lead an interactive workshop tailored specifically for adults age 55+. With cybercrime and digital abuse on the rise, it’s important for everyone to be aware of the dangers and — even more important – to be ready with a plan for when something goes wrong. Liano will begin by outlining some of the threats people face in today’s digital world, and then examine how adults can assemble a team of trusted relatives, friends, and professionals and put together a plan of action for responding to whatever may come their way, from phishing scams to cyber harassment.
